Mission teams are full of hard workers. Some of the teams come just to do construction work. There are other teams that come, and do a Vacation Bible School for the kids of the community. Many teams that come will do both building, and a VBS.
Thanks to themany tea
Your team is responsible to bring the people, and with the experience needed to do these projects on your own. The church may be able to find you a little help, but it is not a guarantee.
If you are not comfortable with these projects, Joe would suggest considering doing a Vacation Bible School program for the kids in this community. That is what we are really looking for right now.

2019 Missions Teams
We had 2 amazing VBS programs in June 2019. Thank you so much to the Presbytery of East Iowa PW, and the folks from Rochester (and other churches) for all your work in this. The kids will remember you for years to come.
If you team wants to come in summer of 2020, please let Joe know soon.
We already have teams looking at the end of June through mid July of next summer.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.What do Mission Teams do?
Mission teams can choose to do as little, or as much as they choose to do. A big part of how much you get accomplished will depend on the age of your team, the kind of work you want to do, and the number of people you bring. There are two options of trips you can have. First, you can an all construction trip, where you are working on repairing or remodling the whole trip. Much of the remodeling at the Manse, that the church can pay for has been done, except for windows.
The other option will be to focus on Vacation Bible School. The kids at Bdecan, and on the Spirit Lake Reservation love VBS, and they never say there's too much. Some churches that do VBS also do some work either at the church, or on reservation while they are here.
2. Where will we be staying?
The mission teams that come will be able to stay in the bunk trailers that we got in December of 2013. There are 10 bunk beds in each of the 2 trailers. With these trailers, we can house about 40 people at Bdecan. If a few people would like to sleep in the sanctuary, I do have air mattresses that can be used. Lodging is free at Bdecan Presbyterian Church. If your team would prefer a hotel, there are many options about 20 miles away in Devils Lake. Your mission team would need to cover the cost of the hotel.
3. What is the cost for the trip?
The cost for your trip will be your travel to Bdecan, your food, and supplies and tools for jobs outside of the manse, and any extra activities that your team chooses to do outside of Bdecan. Bdecan does not charge you for coming, or for lodging at the church.
